Senolytics are compounds that support the body’s natural ability to clear old, damaged (senescent) cells to make way for new, healthy cells.
Fisetin, a flavonoid found in various plants (and in minute quantities in some fruits and vegetables), is one of the most powerful natural senolytics ever discovered.
What is Cellular Senescence?
The Hayflick limit suggests that a normal human cell can replicate and divide roughly fifty times before it cannot divide anymore (this is known as ‘replicative senescence'). Certain stressors mean that cells may become senescent before reaching the Hayflick limit.
Cellular senescence is a phenomenon where cells cease to divide but remain metabolically active. This means they are still 'alive' and growing, generating energy, and creating and eliminating waste. Senescent cells are usually enlarged due to their growth in the absence of division. These senescent cells are sometimes referred to as zombie cells – no longer functioning normally and creating havoc wherever they're found in the body.
These zombie cells secrete numerous pro-inflammatory and proteolytic factors (enzymes that break down protein), marked by the secretion of proinflammatory cytokines. Senescent cells have been shown to accumulate with age, a phenomenon that impedes innate and adaptive immune responses. Common cellular stressors such as; oxidative stress, DNA damage and mitochondrial dysfunction can trigger cellular senescence in cells. Because senescent cells remain metabolically active, the burden of senescent cells within the body increases, altering the local microenvironment, tissue structure and function.
What is Immunosenescence?
Immunosenescence broadly describes age-related decline in the immune system. Cells of the immune system, such as B, T, and NK (Natural Killer) cells, are crucial to a robust immune system. B cells are responsible for producing antibodies, while T cells provide cell immunity. NK cells are part of the innate immune system which is the first line of your body's defense. These cells have been shown to become senescent in healthy elderly individuals, which is believed to contribute to age-related immune decline. For instance, senescent B cells have an impaired ability to proliferate, differentiate, and generate an optimal antibody response. Senescent immune cells are also believed to contribute to age-related inflammation (or "inflammaging"), which is a hallmark of ageing.
Supplementation with senolytic compounds such as Fisetin, which supports the body's normal targeting of senescent cells, is emerging as a viable approach to support the body’s natural removal of senescent cells. Fisetin is the main ingredient in our Fisetin+.

Who might benefit? Under 30 years: Intermittently as directed by your health care professional or if you have been ill or have metabolic issues.
30 years+: One week every quarter (i.e. four weeks per year) or as directed by your health care professional.
40 years+: Six (6) weeks per year (i.e. one week every second month) or as directed by your health care professional.

Dosage: Two capsules morning and night for seven consecutive days (i.e. 28 capsules per week).
Why not take a senolytic daily?
Research has shown they are effective when taken intermittently, so in most cases it's not necessary to take them daily unless advised by your health care professional.
